On February 3, Huawei released a smart assisted driving display technology called XHUD-AR Composition Engine. This technology can effectively identify and mark surrounding vehicles and pedestrians, adapt to nighttime driving, and filter out 95% of AR icon offsets.

It is reported that Huawei first showcased its AR head-up display at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich, Germany in 2021. This AR-HUD created a 70-inch virtual image displayed 7.5 meters in front of the driver. Four years later, Huawei upgraded the system, and the latest version of the head-up display is named XHUD-AR, supporting multi-dimensional coordinate transformation and real-scene integration.
Huawei's XHUD-AR features significant improvements in real-time rendering, target tracking, and anti-shake algorithms. The system better integrates virtual and real spaces, resulting in a superior user experience. AR real-time navigation markers consistently and accurately point to targets in the physical world.
This head-up display system also filters out over 95% of AR icon shifts caused by road bumps, thanks to a trajectory prediction algorithm that allows the AR icon to adjust its position in real time, keeping the image stable. Furthermore, XHUD-AR offers a wealth of features, including: nighttime driving assistance, blind spot vehicle warning, pedestrian marking, deceleration and braking alerts, and obstacle avoidance prompts.
It is reported that Huawei has already supplied its AR head-up display devices to several automakers, including SAIC Motor, BAIC Group, Seres, Changan Automobile, Chery Automobile, BYD, and JAC Motors. The new XHUD-AR technology will further enhance the comfort and safety of these vehicles. (Compiled)
