On December 8, Belgian quantum dot color conversion developer QustomDot announced that it had raised €5 million (approximately RMB 38.4 million) in its Series A funding round. Participants in this round included Noshaq, EIC Fund, Qbic Fund, Venture Capital, PMV, and VIGO Venture.

Quantum dots are semiconductor nanocrystals with unique optical properties and can be used in fields such as displays, solar cells, and biomedicine.
QustomDot focuses on the research and development of full-color Micro LED displays using InP-based quantum dot color conversion technology. The team combines quantum dot synthesis, surface engineering, and ink/photoresist formulations and applies them to the patterned color conversion layer of Micro LED displays.
QustomDot has stated that its goal is to achieve high-quality, high-brightness Micro LED displays and accelerate the commercialization of quantum dot Micro LED applications such as smartwatches and AR glasses.
In recent years, QustomDot has collaborated with several LED companies to jointly develop Micro LED technology.
In 2022, QustomDot partnered with Aledia, a French developer of 3D structure GaN LED technology, to jointly develop full-color Micro LED technology to address the challenges of large-size displays and luxury TV applications. In August of the same year, QustomDot collaborated with MICLEDI, a developer of Micro LED displays for AR glasses, to develop color Micro LED microdisplays based on quantum dot color conversion technology. In May 2023, QustomDot and nanoprinting company XTPL joined the EU-supported BAMBAM project to jointly focus on developing printed flexible Micro LED displays.
