According to a recent Bloomberg report, the Apple Watch's blood pressure monitoring feature may be unveiled as early as 2025.

The report points out that the new feature will not provide accurate systolic/diastolic blood pressure readings, but will instead detect rising blood pressure trends by monitoring user data over a long period and issue alerts when hypertension may be present.

The report also mentioned that current Apple Watch models can detect conditions such as atrial fibrillation or arrhythmia and provide electrocardiogram (ECG) readings for medical professionals. In addition, the Apple Watch also supports blood oxygen level monitoring.

Meanwhile, Apple's biggest competitor, Samsung Electronics, has launched devices that support blood pressure monitoring, but concerns about the accuracy of Samsung's products remain.

In addition to the blood pressure monitoring function, the report also mentioned that Apple is developing a non-invasive blood glucose monitoring function, but this function is still in the research and development stage and is not yet ready for release.

In addition to these new features, Bloomberg points out that some Apple Watch models will also replace Intel's cellular modem with a version developed by MediaTek. This reportedly marks the first time Apple has used a major MediaTek component, after years of evaluation. This move further reduces Apple's reliance on Intel, which previously supplied processors for Macs. (Translated by Irving)
