Fu-Cai (stock code: 3714) has been deeply involved in the automotive field for many years. In August of this year, its subsidiary, Lonta Electronics, announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with German automotive IC manufacturer Inova Semiconductors. Today, the company officially announced the completion of the licensing agreement.

Lonta Electronics focuses on the integration of optics, mechanics, electronics, and thermal technologies, and is committed to innovative module technology and market development. It is also a leading brand in the automotive ambient lighting market. This collaboration will combine the complete supply chain capabilities of the Fucai Group with the advanced technology of Inova Semiconductors to drive next-generation automotive interactive lighting technology. It will be the first in the industry to extend Smart LED technology from inside the vehicle to the outside, while reducing the package size by 50%, meeting the increasing demands of automotive intelligence.
Lonta's core advantages in Smart LED include:
- A world-first dual application:
Lonta's Smart LED is the world's first multi-functional module that can be used both inside and outside the vehicle. It requires only one system to control the applications inside and outside the vehicle and ensures that it can perform at its best in different environments. It also facilitates subsequent maintenance and ensures stable functionality. - High brightness performance:
Compared to traditional in-vehicle displays with only 7 lumens, Lonta increases the current to meet the needs of external vehicle displays, providing 20-40 lumens, which are still clearly visible even in strong sunlight. - Industry-leading heat dissipation technology:
Lonta's unique heat dissipation design effectively improves display quality and product durability. Compared with traditional Smart LEDs, Lonta's Smart LEDs have 55% lower thermal resistance at the same brightness. For car manufacturers, this not only ensures the safety of product use but also extends the product's lifespan. - Precise color reproduction:
LEDs are inherently susceptible to temperature-induced brightness variations, especially red LEDs. When the temperature rises from 25 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius, the brightness of a red LED decreases by 50%. Lextar integrates the Smart LED driver with the LED itself, sensing temperature and adjusting the brightness of each color LED to achieve 100% consistent color performance across various temperatures. - Increase refresh rate:
Typical vehicle exterior display applications use only 244 Hz, while Lonta has increased it to 1200 Hz, making the experience more comfortable for the human eye.
Lonta's Smart LED addresses the shortcomings of traditional technologies in terms of brightness and color, providing a high-quality and cost-effective solution through technological integration. Furthermore, the application of Smart LED has expanded from the vehicle interior to the exterior, such as lights near door handles that automatically illuminate when the owner approaches, facilitating door opening and creating a welcoming atmosphere, showcasing Lonta's innovation in the automotive ambient lighting market.
Fucai will engage in a long-term collaboration with Inova Semiconductors, with plans to launch a new generation of Smart LED products in the first quarter of 2026. They will also work with OEMs and key customers to develop future vehicle designs and enhance the driving experience.
Lonta Electronics will be participating in Electronica Munich from November 12th to 15th, 2024, showcasing our latest Smart LED solutions. We welcome you to visit us for consultation and guidance.
