According to news from Huzhou Moganshan High-tech Zone, Zhejiang Hongshi Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. is making every effort to advance the construction of its project to produce 10 million micro LED microdisplay chips per year. The project is expected to be completed in June next year and put into production in the second half of the year.
Liu Bo, the on-site manager of the construction unit, introduced that the project has a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan and a total land area of 80 mu. Currently, the first phase, covering approximately 31 mu, is under construction and will build a production base with an annual production capacity of 10 million Micro LED microdisplay chips for manufacturing and packaging. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to achieve sales revenue of 2.5 billion yuan, profits of 800 million yuan, and taxes of 250 million yuan.
Zhejiang Hongshi Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yancheng Hongshi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hongshi Intelligent"). Since its establishment in 2017, Hongshi Intelligent has been focusing on the research and development and manufacturing of Micro LED microdisplay chips. In 2020, Hongshi Intelligent launched a technology transformation and industrial upgrading, established a cooperative relationship with the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and assembled a research and development team of nearly 100 people in high-end talent hubs such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Suzhou.

Hongshi Intelligent has mastered core technologies and patents such as 8-inch silicon-based metal bonding, quantum dot conversion, single/three-chip full-color, and microlenses, and has full-chain capabilities from optical device design to module design and manufacturing.
At the 2024 Self-Emitting Display Industry Seminar, Liu Yi, Vice General Manager of New Market Development at Hongshi Intelligent, stated that the company's unique advantages in the Micro LED micro-display field have led to the widespread application of its Micro LED micro-display technology in various fields such as AR glasses, micro-projection, smart car lights, 3D printing, and digital lighting. This makes Hongshi Intelligent one of the few Micro LED chip companies capable of achieving orders and shipments exceeding 10,000 units in 2024.
Over the past four years, Hongshi Intelligent has invested more than 120 million yuan in research and development, and successfully achieved mass production of Micro LED microdisplay chips in June this year. As soon as the news of mass production was announced, Hongshi Intelligent secured nearly 400 million yuan in potential orders.
In terms of products, Hongshi Intelligent's Aurora series includes three models: 0.12-inch, 0.61-inch, and 0.69-inch. Among them, the Aurora A6 is the world's brightest 0.12-inch Micro LED microdisplay chip, with a resolution of 640x480 and a brightness of 8 million nits. It also provides multiple interface versions such as MIPI, SPI, and QSPI.
Currently, Hongshi Intelligent has completed its angel and Pre-A rounds of financing and is actively pursuing its Series A equity financing. The company plans to continue increasing its R&D investment and production line construction in order to overcome technological bottlenecks and further consolidate its position in the Micro LED micro-display field.
