On May 26, LG Display (LGD) announced on its official website that its transparent OLED displays were installed on the platform screen doors of Yeouido Station in Seoul, South Korea, in April. These screens not only display Seoul's new single-line subway map but also provide various information such as operational details and emergency evacuation instructions, making it easier for passengers to access subway information.

It is understood that the most basic function of subway platform screen doors is to provide a clear view of the internal and external environment. LGD's transparent OLED display has high transparency and thinness, and can directly replace glass windows. While maintaining safety performance, it can also display maps, operation information, advertisements and other content on a large screen.
LGD stated that its transparent OLED displays have been used in transportation scenarios in multiple countries. This technology has been adopted in subway systems in Chinese cities including Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chongqing, as well as in Japan's JR train public transportation system.
