As the display material with the highest color fidelity currently available, quantum dots are rapidly being applied in direct-viewing products. Saphlux, leveraging its globally unique patented nanopore quantum dot (NPQD®) technology, has achieved in-situ integration of MLED chips and quantum dots, and has pioneered the commercial production of quantum dot red light chips. This technology has already been widely deployed in quantum dot COB direct-viewing products, covering areas of thousands of square meters. Recently, Saphlux has launched quantum dot MLED products with customized wavelengths such as yellow and green light, breaking through the limitations of traditional red, blue, and green chips and propelling the industry into a new era of adjustable chip colors.

Quantum Dot Green Light Chip: Solving the Uniformity Problem of Traditional Green Light and Achieving the Rec.2020 Color Gamut Standard
A quantum dot green light chip based on blue light excitation will soon enter the mass production stage. This chip achieves nearly 100% coverage of the Rec.2020 color gamut standard for green light output, and its wavelength uniformity is controlled within ±1nm within a 4-inch wafer, significantly outperforming traditional InGaN green light chips and demonstrating a significant advantage in overall screen color uniformity. Currently, the 0307-size quantum dot green light chip has passed a full set of verifications, including reliability testing on high-end COB samples with a pitch of P0.7 and below, and will be launched to the market in the second half of the year.

Quantum Dot Yellow Light Chip: Portrait Master, Enabling Virtual Photography and High-End Design
Saifless has completed sample delivery of its 580nm wavelength yellow light quantum dot MLED chip, achieving an external quantum efficiency exceeding 8%. Through integration with traditional RGB chips, it constructs an RGB+Y four-color pixel structure. This four-color pixel structure is specifically designed for high-end virtual shooting screens, professional and design applications, and other scenarios with extremely high requirements for skin tone reproduction and high-fidelity image reproduction. It can significantly enrich portrait details and greatly improve display quality.

Three-in-One RGB Chip: Three Colors on a Single Chip, Bringing the Ultimate Solution for Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement
In the direction of high integration, CEFILES is advancing the development of the "RGB in One" three-in-one chip. This technology integrates red and green quantum dot materials onto a single blue MicroLED chip, achieving full-color RGB display on a single chip. This solution effectively simplifies the chip transfer and die bonding process, reduces equipment investment costs, repair costs, and transfer costs by approximately 60%, while significantly improving pixel consistency and overall screen image quality stability, bringing a new breakthrough path for high-precision MicroLED displays.

Red LED Chip: Environmentally Friendly and Color-Off, a Killer Solution for High-End Large Screens and CAVEs
Saifless's mass-produced R-series red LED chips utilize a quantum dot color conversion solution, offering more precise color dot positioning, a narrower half-width at half-maximum (HWHM), and stronger temperature and current stability compared to traditional AlInGaP chips. In COB packaging, the consistent substrate for the red, green, and blue chips ensures virtually no color shift across the entire screen at wide viewing angles.

Data shows that, under the same system configuration, the color temperature change of QD-COB screen at a maximum viewing angle of 85° is reduced by more than 15 times compared to traditional COB screen; in high-end immersive scenarios such as CAVE, the color deviation at a 60° side viewing angle is reduced from the traditional 15% to less than 3%, and the color accuracy is improved by more than 5 times, which greatly improves the immersive experience.

QD-COB quantum dot direct-view products, made using R-series quantum dot red light chips, are not only being applied in traditional and emerging high-end commercial display scenarios, but are also helping more display products overcome existing technical challenges. Recently, CStone Semiconductor used QD-COB products to assist a customer in achieving a seamless LCD screen splicing solution. Its wide viewing angle and high color accuracy advantages are matched with the LCD's own ultra-wide viewing angle, helping to eliminate black seams in the LCD screen. This solution breaks through the traditional LCD size limitations, balancing immersive viewing experience with cost control, and expanding the new application boundaries of QD technology in the commercial display field.

Dr. Song Jie, Vice President of Technology at SFLS, stated, “The unique nanopore structure provides a stable and efficient packaging environment for quantum dots, significantly improving light output and chip reliability, laying a solid foundation for the large-scale application of quantum dots in COB direct-view displays. Currently, SFLS has established a mature and efficient mass production system for quantum dot MLED chips. With the continuous breakthroughs in quantum dot material technology, we will launch quantum dot chips with more wavelength options. We are confident in working with partners across various industries to jointly develop more high-quality quantum dot direct-view display products.”

Lu Changjun, Chief Technology Officer of Leyard Group, a partner of SFLS, stated, “Over the past year, the outstanding performance of QD-COB direct-view display products in the end-user market has been evident. With their superior color reproduction capabilities and distinctive differentiated positioning, they have won widespread market recognition. This year, Leyard launched the new MG NPQD® cold screen series, achieving further optimization in chip packaging and system design. This synergy with SFLS injects new vitality into the COB commercial display market. In the future, Leyard hopes to accelerate the deployment of more end-user products through multi-color and three-in-one quantum dot chips, expand into diversified small-pitch differentiated direct-view display products, and even enter the home market.”
