Samsung recently officially announced that it will hold its third Unpacked product launch event this year. Previously, Samsung held two events in January and May. This event is scheduled for 10:00 AM Eastern Time on July 9th (10:00 PM Beijing Time on July 9th) in Brooklyn, New York.
Although the main focus of this press conference is likely to be foldable screen phones, many media outlets are speculating that Samsung may also release a new MR headset codenamed "Infinity" at the event.
Regarding the release date of the "Infinity" headset, there are currently two main theories in the industry. One view is that Samsung will directly release the product at the Unpacked conference in July; the other view is that Samsung will first show a trailer and actual demonstration at the July conference, and then officially release it in September, with sales starting in the South Korean market in October.

South Korean media outlet Newspim previously reported that Samsung would showcase a prototype of its "Infinite" headset and play a teaser video at the Unpacked conference in New York in July to gauge market reaction. Following this, Samsung plans to hold a dedicated Unpacked event in South Korea on September 29th to officially launch the "Infinite" MR headset, initially releasing it in South Korea on October 13th, before gradually expanding to the global market.
The report also mentioned that Samsung has identified the XR market as a new growth engine for the company and will officially join the fierce competition with rivals such as Apple and Meta in the next-generation platform field. Currently, the Samsung team has formulated a specific launch plan and is in the final stages of preparation.
Furthermore, South Korean media outlet The ELEC previously revealed that the "Infinity" headset will use a Sony silicon-based OLED display with a 1.3-inch screen and a resolution of 3800 PPI. Samsung has already begun producing related components, with expected shipments reaching up to 100,000 units. In comparison, the Sony display used in the Apple Vision Pro is 1.42 inches with a resolution of 3391 PPI. (Source: XR Control)
