It is understood that atomic layer deposition technology plays an important role in material precision control and surface passivation. It can achieve ultra-thin and uniform coatings with atomic-level precision, and can effectively address key challenges in Micro LED production, such as surface defect passivation, sidewall protection, transparent conductive oxide deposition, and final passivation processes, thereby improving device efficiency and long-term reliability.
Beneq's multi-chamber architecture supports a variety of materials and processes, helping customers optimize optical and electrical performance and achieve a seamless transition from laboratory to mass production. Customers primarily use its Micro LED equipment to achieve monolithic integration of Micro LEDs and driving electronics on a single chip, suggesting potential end-use applications such as AR and wearable devices.
It is also worth mentioning that Beneq was wholly acquired by Sirui Intelligent in 2018. The latter turned it into an overseas R&D center, integrating Beneq's more than 30 years of mature ALD coating technology with domestic industrialization advantages, focusing on emerging semiconductor, general semiconductor and nano-optics industrial coating application fields.
Sirui Intelligent primarily focuses on key core technologies such as "semiconductor equipment" and "new displays," providing two main business segments: atomic layer deposition (ALD) equipment and thin-film electroluminescent displays (EL). The company continuously advances the research and application of EL transparent display technology, focusing on demanding industrial applications in automotive, rail transportation, construction machinery, and defense, providing global customers with highly reliable, ultra-wide temperature range, and high transmittance display solutions.
