International auto parts supplier Freya Hella announced a partnership with Ledao, a brand under the Chinese electric vehicle startup NIO, to develop intelligent headlights for its new SUV model, the L90. These headlights represent a significant leap forward in performance, design aesthetics, and personalized features, while also demonstrating superior advantages in lightweight design and cost-effectiveness. They offer end-users a highly customized and sustainably upgradable interactive experience, redefining the value of automotive lighting in intelligent mobility scenarios. The headlights were designed, developed, and manufactured by Freya Hella's local team in China. Pre-orders for the vehicle began on July 10th, and it will officially launch at the end of July.
This headlight system features hundreds of independently controllable LEDs, supporting highly complex dynamic lighting signals and user-defined animations. Combined with OTA (Over-The-Air) updates, it significantly expands lighting applications, such as providing visual support for interactions between the vehicle and other road users. Its adaptive high beam module adjusts the beam pattern in real time according to actual road conditions, significantly improving nighttime driving safety.

Addressing the extreme styling challenges of the Leto L90 model, Freya Hella successfully eliminated the problem of light crosstalk between pixel modules within a compact space using a patented optical solution. Simultaneously, it innovatively employs a narrow-band high and low beam module, achieving ultra-wide light coverage and uniform illumination even at extreme installation angles. Through an advanced matrix architecture and a unique optical concept, this headlight sets a new industry benchmark for the width of high and low beam distribution and illumination uniformity while maintaining the client's creative design.
Furthermore, Freya Hella has achieved significant improvements in cost-effectiveness through modular design and process optimization, and supports strategies for smaller installation space and lower power consumption, providing customers with lightweight solutions that balance performance and cost-effectiveness.
Didier Keskas envisioned: "Looking to the future, we will continue to deepen our matrix of scenario-based lighting technologies, empower customers to create differentiated product competitiveness through innovation, and jointly build a new ecosystem for smart mobility. This in-depth cooperation with Ledao Auto not only demonstrates Freya Hella's determination to strengthen its local strategy in the field of intelligent lighting, but also injects strong technological momentum into China's automotive innovation ecosystem."
