Shanghai, November 24, 2025 – International auto parts supplier Freya Hella has designed a panoramic diamond-patterned taillight for the new flagship SUV of Geely Auto's premium automotive brand, Geely 9X. Developed and manufactured by Freya Hella's local Chinese team, the taillight officially entered mass production in September of this year. This collaboration not only marks the first partnership between Freya Hella and Geely 9X but also sets a new benchmark for aesthetic design. The vehicle officially launched on September 29th of this year.

Didier Keskas, Head of Lighting Business for Freya Hella Asia Pacific, stated, “We adhere to a ‘In China, For China’ localization strategy, committed to accurately understanding and actively responding to the unique needs of the Chinese market. Against this backdrop, we have partnered closely with JKJ to create unique mobility solutions that truly align with local consumer preferences, driven by user needs. This collaboration fully demonstrates our unwavering pursuit of highly refined design solutions. In this solution, we have successfully achieved a visual presentation that combines superior quality, striking appearance, and timeless elegance within an extremely compact space.”

Unique Design Aesthetics: Dazzling Like Diamonds, Shining Like Stars
The taillights feature a unique double-horizontal-bar ring design, visually enhancing the overall cohesiveness and layering of the rear of the car. The horizontal light-emitting surfaces are distributed in a diamond-cut pattern, and at night, the dynamic lighting effect resembles two flowing light bands, creating a visual feast that perfectly blends sophistication and technology, making the model more recognizable. To create a unique visual effect, Freya Hella employed an ingenious optical design scheme, using an unconventional parabolic reflector superimposed with double-layer laser patterns, making the upper and lower light strips dazzling like diamonds; within a small area on the left and right sides, a semi-transparent substrate is coated with high-gloss black paint and laser-engraved, achieving a star-like shimmering effect.

Extra-long dimensions and extremely limited assembly space
The Krypton 9X features a top-and-bottom door design. The integrated taillight, located on its trunk, is 1.7 meters long, with horizontal strips running across the top and bottom, visually maximizing the width of the vehicle and giving it a more imposing presence. The lower light strip and side starlight positions of the taillight are extremely thin, yet Freya Hella still provides customers with a variety of optical solutions, achieving the desired aesthetic effect within the limited space. This design not only enhances the overall refinement of the vehicle's appearance but also provides greater flexibility and creative space for the overall design.

Within an extremely limited space, Freya Hella, through its innovative and diverse optical solutions and structural design, has integrated multiple regulatory-required lighting functions into its taillights, including position lights, brake lights, turn signals, reversing lights, and fog lights. It also achieves delicate and fluid dynamic effects, such as welcome and farewell animations, as well as unique visual effects. Furthermore, Freya Hella has keenly observed market trends and, in response to customer feedback, has been a pioneer in introducing intelligent driver assistance indicator lights.
