On March 17, it was reported that Apple is preparing to launch a second-generation Studio Display, which uses Mini LED backlighting technology and is expected to be released later this year or early next year. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the display's internal codename at Apple is J427.

However, according to Gurman's latest PowerOn newsletter, Apple's plans for external displays seem to extend beyond this. Gurman points out that Apple is also developing another display, codenamed J527. The specific positioning and functions of this display are currently unclear, and its final form remains a mystery. Gurman speculates that Apple may be developing two different second Studio Display models and will decide which one to release later. Another speculation is that the J527 might be the second-generation ProDisplay XDR display.
It is understood that the current ProDisplayXDR was launched in 2019, while StudioDisplay will be launched in 2022. (Image source: IT Home)
