On March 12, Vuzix, a US-based smart glasses company, announced that Xander™, a company based in Raleigh, North Carolina, had placed a purchase of Vuzix Shield™ smart glasses with the company. This is the largest additional order Vuzix has received to date. The order is intended to meet the growing market demand for Xander Glasses™ solutions. The product and its accompanying software provide real-time captions, helping people with hearing impairments communicate more easily.

Xander Glasses products reportedly utilize Vuzix Shield smart glasses, which are ready to use out of the box. Users simply press a button and put on the glasses to see real-time dialogue subtitles within their field of vision, thus helping hearing-impaired individuals achieve barrier-free communication.

Xander Glasses operate 100% independently, feature a minimalist design, and have simple on/off functionality. They require no smartphone or cloud connection, ensuring reliability and privacy, making them suitable for home, workplace, and public environments.

Vuzix states that hearing loss affects a growing number of people worldwide, including veterans, those chronically exposed to noise, and the elderly. By combining Vuzix Shield smart glasses with Xander's powerful embedded voice-to-text software, Xander Glasses meets the needs of the hearing impaired. Vuzix will continue to support Xander in expanding its hearing loss solutions.

According to the data, the Vuzix Shield smart glasses are equipped with a Micro LED display, using monochrome green display technology, boasting a peak brightness of up to 2 million nits and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, providing clear and sharp image display under complex lighting conditions. Its waveguide optical system employs an advanced 3D binocular design, with a horizontal field of view of 30°, a single-eye resolution of 1268×720, and a refresh rate of up to 60Hz.

It's worth noting that Vuzix recently released its 2024 financial results. During the reporting period, Vuzix achieved revenue of $5.755 million (approximately RMB 41.667 million), a 52% decrease year-over-year. The revenue decline was primarily due to reduced sales of its M400 smart glasses. Furthermore, compared to 2023, the company's losses widened further. Looking ahead to 2025, Vuzix will focus on fostering long-term customer partnerships, expanding ODM/OEM collaborations, and developing business in the defense sector.
