On March 19, BOE's HC SemiTek Micro LED factory, the world's first 6-inch Micro LED mass production line, held a product delivery ceremony in Jinwan District, Zhuhai. At the ceremony, BOE unveiled its latest Micro LED products and officially delivered COW (Chip on Wafer) and MPD (Micro Pixel Display) products to customers.

According to reports, the BOE Huacan Micro LED factory was invested and built by BOE Huacan Optoelectronics (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. The factory officially broke ground at the end of July 2023. After going through important milestones such as topping out, moving in process equipment, and product lighting, the project achieved product delivery in just 20 months.

BOE's Huacan Micro LED factory mainly produces Micro LED wafers and pixel devices, targeting ultra-large and ultra-small high-definition display scenarios, and is used in large-size commercial displays, AR/VR head-mounted display devices and wearable devices. When fully operational, it will have an annual production capacity of 24,000 sets of Micro LED wafers (6-inch wafers) and 45,000 pixels of Micro LED devices.
The successful mass production of BOE Huacan's Micro LED factory is inseparable from the strong support of the Zhuhai Municipal Government and the Jinwan District Government. In his speech, Mr. Ao Wei, Deputy District Mayor of Jinwan District, stated that in the future, the Jinwan District Committee and Government will continue to provide comprehensive support to help BOE Huacan build a new display industry cluster in Zhuhai, contributing to Zhuhai's implementation of its "manufacturing-led" strategy and accelerating its transformation into a "trillion-yuan industrial powerhouse."
Mr. Zhang Zhaohong, Chairman of BOE Huacan, stated that in the future, the company will adhere to a dual-engine strategy of "technology + manufacturing," attracting more high-quality enterprises to settle in Zhuhai and cultivate the Zhuhai market. Through the full integration of automated systems such as MCS, RTD, and EAP with equipment like automated material handling, electronic shelving, and Lifters, the factory effectively improves productivity and product quality stability, reduces operating costs, and enhances the safety of its workers.
High degree of equipment localization: To efficiently build its Micro LED production line, BOE's Huacan Micro LED factory boasts a domestic equipment localization rate exceeding 80%, significantly reducing costs in both the initial and later stages of the project.
