On April 2nd, Microlight Technology announced that its new product, the Xuanjing M5, will officially go on sale on April 9th. These glasses are the first smart AR clip-on glasses, weighing only 25.8 grams, more than 40% lighter than similar products on the market.
In terms of display, the Xuanjing M5 uses Micro LED and binocular diffractive waveguide technology to project an 86-inch high-definition screen equivalent to 4 meters away, with a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits.
In terms of functionality, the Xuanjing M5 supports multiple applications such as reading, translation, navigation, and question writing. It is equipped with the Hongyan OS system and integrates AI models such as DeepSeek and Tongyi Qianwen, providing functions such as AI outlines, book Q&A, impromptu creation, and translation summaries.

According to available information, the Xuanjing M5 was developed by Shenzhen Weiguang Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. (“Weiguang Technology”), which was founded in 2023 and focuses on smart glasses solutions that combine AI and AR technologies.
New Micro LED AR glasses products continue to be launched.
AR glasses are one of the important applications of Micro LED micro-display technology. According to the "2024 Near-Eye Display Market Trends and Technology Analysis", Micro LED light source characteristics can meet the requirements of high brightness, small size and low power consumption of AR devices, and are regarded as an important micro-display technology reserve.
Currently, the application of Micro LED in AR glasses is expanding. According to incomplete statistics, since 2024, 13 Micro LED AR glasses, including the Xuanjing M5, have been released or launched.

With its advantages of high transparency and thinness, optical waveguide technology has become one of the mainstream optical solutions for AR glasses. It is used in products of many well-known brands, including Meta, TCL, InnoLight Technology, Rokid, Vuzix, Meizu, Ewen Technology, and OPPO, which have launched consumer-grade AR glasses based on Micro LED and optical waveguide technology.
Analysis suggests that the AR device market is expected to reach 25.5 million units by 2030, with Micro LED's market share projected to increase to 44%. The launch of new products such as the Xuanjing M5 will inject vitality into the market and boost the application and development of Micro LED in the AR field. (Compiled by Mia)
