On September 10th, the 25th CIOE China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. This year's exhibition features sections on information and communication, precision optics, camera technology and applications, lasers and intelligent manufacturing, infrared, ultraviolet, intelligent sensing, new displays, AR & VR, and optoelectronic innovation.

AR & VR once again became the focus of this exhibition. With the continued rise in market demand for AR and VR glasses, many companies brought their latest Micro LED, Micro OLED microdisplays and related optical products to the exhibition, providing downstream application companies with more comprehensive high-performance near-eye display solutions.

Meanwhile, more upstream display equipment and material companies are also participating in the development trend of AR and VR glasses, actively developing corresponding technical solutions to further accelerate the development of micro-display technology.

JBD

JBD unveiled its latest "Hummingbird II" color light engine at the event, featuring JBD's new 0.1-inch MicroLED microdisplay and X-Cube frame, achieving an ultra-lightweight design of 0.2 cubic centimeters and 0.5 grams, both 50% smaller than its predecessor, making it the smallest mass-produced color light engine to date. Simultaneously, the overall mechanical length has been reduced from 11.99 mm to 8.57 mm, significantly improving the design flexibility of the temple structure.

The new MicroLED microdisplay on the "Hummingbird II" has a resolution of 500×380, a pixel density of 6350 PPI, a color depth increased from 8 bits to 10 bits, a screen refresh rate of up to 480Hz, and a power consumption of only 15mW on the back panel of the microdisplay.

With its new MicroLED microdisplay, the "Hummingbird II" boasts a 25-degree field of view, a contrast ratio exceeding 100:1, and delivers 3 lumens of luminous flux, while its typical power consumption has been reduced from 150mW in its predecessor to 95mW.

At the exhibition, JBD also showcased Pavo Lite, a development kit for binocular full-color display glasses based on the "Hummingbird II". The development kit aims to help end-product manufacturers quickly complete product definition, display effect preview, function verification and software debugging of lightweight and full-color display AR glasses, effectively shortening the development cycle.

The kit includes the "Hummingbird II" and an etched waveguide optics combination, with a built-in ARTCs image quality engine, delivering a high-brightness, high-definition display experience. This development kit supports both wired and wireless screen projection and features comprehensive software development and testing capabilities, with the main control solution provided by "Xiaoman Intelligent".

Hongshi Intelligent

Hongshi Intelligent showcased its latest full-color Micro LED optical engine, the Aurora Shadow XC6. With an optical engine of only 0.35cc, it boasts a combined brightness exceeding 2.5 million nits. While achieving high brightness, it also achieves an efficiency of 8 lm/W, resulting in longer battery life. Furthermore, benefiting from the narrow half-width characteristic of quantum dot materials, it achieves a coverage of 109.89% NTSC, 114.37% DCI-P3, and 155.15% sRGB, ensuring seamless integration of virtual images with the real world.

In addition, Hongshi Intelligent also showcased its single-chip full-color product AC3, which is only 0.12 inches in size, with a resolution of 320*240, a pixel size of 7.5*7.5 micrometers, and a pixel density of 3400 PPI. In March of this year, the sample achieved a brightness of 2 million nits for the first time.

It is reported that Hongshi Intelligent is advancing the construction of a project to produce 10 million Micro LED microdisplay chips per year this year. The project is expected to be completed in June 2026 and put into production in the second half of the year.

Norvision Technology

Norvision showcased a monochrome Micro LED screen measuring only 0.06 inches, with a resolution of 540*280, a pixel size of 2.5μm pitch, a pixel density of 10000PPI, a grayscale level of 4bit, and a refresh rate of 240Hz.

Norview Technology also showcased its 0.15cc monochrome optical engine, 0.61-inch white light display chip, 0.39-inch display chip, 8-inch and 4-inch microdisplay wafers, as well as Norview Technology's microdisplay terminal products.

Core Vision

ChipVision showcased its silicon-based microdisplay chip LCoS, 8-inch Micro OLED and Micro LED wafers, and products such as the spatial light modulator (SLM) with domestically developed intellectual property rights.

At the event, Chipvision also showcased a 0.13-inch LCoS lightweight AR glasses, a 0.13-inch Micro LED glasses, and a 0.26-inch LCoS micro-projection solution, all featuring small size and high-quality output.

Raex showcased its PowerMatch® 1 Micro LED microdisplay, light engine, and full-color AR glasses. Its products are monolithic full-color MicroLED display solutions based on quantum dot lithography (QDPR) technology.

The PowerMatch® 1 Micro LED microdisplay features a 0.13-inch screen with an ultra-small 4-micron pixel pitch and a pixel density of 6350 PPI. It currently boasts a peak full-color brightness of 500,000 nits (under white balance), providing 0.7L of luminous flux output for the full-color light engine, and also features a wide color gamut of 108.5% DCI-P3 and high color purity. The full-color light engine, equipped with the 0.13-inch PowerMatch® 1 full-color microdisplay, has a volume of only 0.18cc.

At the event, Raex also showcased the world's first AR glasses prototype based on a single full-color MicroLED combined with an SRG diffractive waveguide.

Vishy Technology showcased its Aurora series of self-developed optical modules for various sizes of Micro OLED displays, as well as cutting-edge products including complete systems from customer brands. It is reported that Vishy's 0.32-1.3 inch Micro OLED displays utilize advanced Micro OLED technology and possess outstanding characteristics such as high resolution, high contrast, fast response speed, and low power consumption.

Among them, the Aurora Boundless 4K optical module, making its debut, adopts an ultra-thin folded optical path design and is equipped with a 1.35-inch Micro OLED screen from Visionox, featuring a 95° ultra-large FOV and 37.4 PPD, achieving a high-definition immersive visual experience. The module is suitable for lightweight VR headsets, balancing high performance and wearing comfort.

Vishy also showcased several smart glasses products at the event, including the Pglass1-C viewing glasses with a 0.49-inch Micro OLED screen in both eyes, and the Pglass2 viewing glasses with a 0.6-inch Micro OLED screen in both eyes.

In addition, the event also showcased a number of near-eye display terminal products that utilize Visio's Micro OLED screens for AR and VR, including Thunderbird's Air3, DJI's Goggles2, and VR devices such as Varjo XR3 and Goovis G3 Max.

Xitai Technology

Xitai Technology showcased its full range of Micro OLED products, ranging from 0.23 to 1.35 inches. Among them, the 0.61Q Micro OLED product on display adopted a newly designed pixel circuit, achieving higher PPI and better crosstal control.

In terms of performance, the 0.61Q achieves a resolution of 2560×1600, a pixel density of 5000PPI, a brightness of up to 8000 nits, and supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, effectively eliminating the screen-door effect.

At the event, HITAI also showcased AR glasses solutions manufactured with industry chain partners, based on HITAI's Micro OLED display devices, including optomechanical modules and complete solutions, and applying mainstream optical solutions such as freeform surfaces, Birdbath, and Pancake.

It is worth noting that in August of this year, Xitai Technology completed a Series B financing round of 150 million yuan, which will be used for the construction of a 12-inch Micro OLED microdisplay industrial park in Nanchong. The project covers an area of ​​125 mu (approximately 8.3 hectares) with a total construction area of ​​approximately 60,000 square meters. The focus is on building the company's second 12-inch Micro OLED production line, which broke ground in March of this year. Its main business is the production of Micro OLED microdisplay devices.

Chipview

Chipview showcased its Micro OLED products ranging from 0.23 to 0.71 inches, as well as AR smart glasses equipped with Micro OLED technology. Regarding Micro OLED products, Chipview exhibited a 0.23-inch Micro OLED display with a resolution of 640*400 and a brightness of 5500 nits.

It is understood that Xinshijia has a 12-inch fully automated silicon-based OLED production line, which is fully self-developed, and Xinshijia can provide ODM and OEM services for smart glasses.

Yunguang Technology

Yunguang Technology showcased its 1.32-inch Micro OLED microdisplay and driver chip at the exhibition. The display features a resolution of 2560(*3)*2560, a pixel size of 3.1μm (*3) *9.3μm, a refresh rate of 1~144Hz, a brightness of ≥1000cd/㎡, a uniformity of ≥90%, and a DCI-P3 color gamut of ≥90%.

Yunguang Technology also showcased several Micro OLED displays at the event, including 0.13, 0.18, 0.23, and 0.71-inch models, all with brightness levels exceeding 50 Kcd/㎡. Additionally, a Birdbath optical module AR glasses was also on display.

Hongxi Technology

Hongxi Technology showcased its 0.39, 0.6, 0.7, and 1.33-inch color Micro OLED displays, demonstrating the products' true clarity, superior visual quality, and vibrant colors. The resolutions range from 1024(x3)x768 to 3840(x3)x2160, with a maximum brightness of 3000 nits, a maximum contrast ratio of >100000:1, and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

It is also worth noting that Hongxi Technology successfully completed a nearly 500 million yuan Series A financing in February this year, and in April, the silicon-based OLED micro-display (phase one) module production base project with a total investment of 2 billion yuan officially commenced construction. Hongxi Technology is now fully constructing its second 12-inch silicon-based OLED production line, striving to solidify its first-mover advantage in the silicon-based OLED micro-display field.

Guozhao Optoelectronics showcased its 0.3-inch ultra-bright, low-power full-color Micro OLED product, along with a small array waveguide module.

Guozhao Optoelectronics' latest 0.3-inch ultra-bright, low-power full-color silicon-based OLED product, "GZ030PCC01," boasts a maximum brightness of up to 10,000 cd/m², making it suitable for various AR optical technologies. It employs a high-efficiency stacked OLED structure, significantly improving photoelectric efficiency, and combines microlens technology to precisely guide light, enhancing light focusing. The product utilizes a new current-driven circuit architecture, enabling the 0.3-inch screen to achieve a high-definition resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 4800 PPI.

To meet the needs of end-customer applications, Guozhao Optoelectronics has simultaneously launched a 0.3-inch arrayed waveguide optical module, "GZ030MCC01". This product adopts a vertical waveguide structure, uses a multi-aspherical design to compress volume, achieves an FOV of 30°, has an optical engine volume of less than 3CC, an overall weight of 10g, and a color brightness of 1000 cd/m².

Little Elephant Light Display

For AR glasses applications, Elephant Display showcased Micro LED AR modules with volumes of only 0.3cc and 0.15cc, as well as the world's smallest Micro LED optical engine with a volume of less than 0.1cc, which was successfully designed in 2025.

In addition, Little Elephant Display showcased its M101 single green projection lamp at the event. The product has a size of 0.13 inches, a resolution of 640*480, a 30° field of view, distortion of <2.03% (diagonal direction), and a contrast ratio of 120:1. XR optical technology solutions from Zhige Technology

ZG Technology is a company specializing in AR diffractive waveguides and micro/nano optics, possessing three core technologies: grating design, grating master fabrication, and nanoimprint lithography. At this exhibition, ZG Technology showcased multiple AR diffractive waveguide devices and modules, covering mainstream FOV ranges, including 30° and 40° full-color waveguide products. In addition, ZG Technology also displayed grating products for femtosecond lasers and spectrometers, as well as diffractive optical elements such as DOEs.

Sunny Optical showcased its core optical components, including 0.13-inch and 0.23-inch LCoS optical engines and 0.55-inch Birdbath optical modules, at the XR System Solutions exhibition area.

In addition, Sunny Optical also showcased reference designs for complete solutions, including AI smart glasses, AR smart glasses, movie-grade AR glasses, and MR all-in-one machines.

Doppler Optoelectronics

Dop Optoelectronics launches a new VR/AR optical solution, adaptable to various consumer and industrial scenarios, featuring a new generation of monolithic PANCAKE optical design. The VR open-source optical engine can reduce development costs and shorten product launch cycles.

Embracing the Four Dimensions

Guangna 4D showcased several products using silicon carbide etching technology, including the C45C silicon carbide full-color etched waveguide, which achieves high color fidelity and high luminous efficiency, a 30° field of view, a brightness of 800 nits/lm, a thickness of only 0.7mm, and a weight of 3.7g, meeting the lightweight and clarity requirements of consumer-grade AR glasses.

The L30CE silicon carbide-etched fully laminated optical waveguide further reduces the thickness to 0.6mm and weighs only 3.5g.

It is reported that Guangna 4D has already achieved mass delivery of multiple silicon carbide full-color waveguides and has implemented their applications in projects of several leading AR manufacturers at home and abroad.

In addition, Guangna 4D also showcased its optical waveguide technology using a fully laminated process, which is only 0.5mm thick, weighs only 2.7g, and has a transmittance of up to 98.5%; and for the first time, it showcased the Coray Air2 AR glasses, which are equipped with Guangna 4D's silicon carbide waveguide technology.

Goertek has launched a variety of waveguide solutions and debuted a silicon carbide-etched full-color diffraction waveguide. It is reported that silicon carbide can reduce the color difference of the waveguide and make it thinner and lighter. The new product uses full lamination technology to eliminate the air layer between the lenses. It is only 0.65mm thick and weighs 3.5g. The image color is uniform and there is no rainbow pattern within a 30° FOV viewing range.

In addition, Goertek's newly launched ultra-high luminous efficiency Micro LED full-color imprinted waveguide display module is equipped with a self-developed 0.2 cubic centimeter/0.5g, which is said to be the smallest color Micro LED optical engine in the industry, with a peak brightness of up to 6000 nits.

Goertek also released an upgraded full-color etched waveguide module that supports binocular display with a grating area transmittance of over 92%, ensuring clear display even in daylight; the optimized Micro LED single green resin diffraction waveguide module has even higher transmittance.

Gudong Technology

Gudong Technology showcased its PVG waveguide technology, highlighting the single-green PVG waveguide H2025G and the full-color PVG waveguide H2030C. These exhibits achieved a 300% improvement in luminous efficacy and a transmittance exceeding 90%. The technology also significantly eliminated the rainbow effect through a unique grating design and ensured no light leakage at any angle, guaranteeing a consistently clear and stable image and effectively reducing eye strain for users during extended wear.

At the event, Gudong Technology also showcased its split-type AR+AI large-scale model glasses products, such as the G510 and G520, as well as other terminal products.

Tooz and Zeiss jointly exhibited, showcasing a complete portfolio of prescription solutions for XR devices, including AR and AI smart glasses, and VR/MR headsets. This series of scalable medical-grade optical solutions provides refractive correction support for various devices.

Among them, tooz highlighted its prescription lenses—push-pull lenses—tailor-made for planar waveguides. These lenses come in various styles, including clear, colored, and photochromic, and are suitable for diopters from +4 to -10. They also feature a 30° field of view. Tooz showcased several AR glasses products equipped with push-pull lenses at the event.

ams OSRAM showcased a QIDI Vida smart sports glasses equipped with the ams OSRAM KRTTB CRLM1.33 LED product. The glasses feature an LCoS+LED light engine and binocular full-color diffractive waveguides, boasting a 640*640 resolution, 2000 nits of brightness, and a 28° FOV, enabling a 100-inch screen display equivalent to a 5-meter distance.

In addition, ams OSRAM also showcased an ELEPN AR glasses optical engine, which uses an ultra-miniature VegaLED RGGB LED light engine, paired with a 0.16” DMD, with a resolution of 640*360, a brightness of 14lm @0.5w, and a color gamut of 85% NTS.

Form and Meaning Intelligence

Xingyi Intelligent showcased several AI smart glasses products at the event, including the newly released AR99 smart glasses. Equipped with a volume holographic waveguide and Micro LED optical module, the entire device weighs only 28g. The glasses are equipped with a 100mAh battery, providing 8 hours of battery life to alleviate battery anxiety. The front light leakage ratio is less than 1:140, and the unique optical design significantly reduces rainbow patterns, allowing users to see more clearly. The glasses are also compatible with different large AI models.

First Mirror Technology

It is reported that First Mirror Technology's AR glasses series has advantages such as 40° array waveguide display, 1000 nits brightness, support for system-level customization, and 1080P high-definition full-color display, making it suitable for applications such as intelligent inspection, remote collaboration, cultural tourism guidance, and security inspection.

Among them, the new generation of special AR equipment features millisecond-level display latency, starlight-level night vision capabilities, and the ability to freely switch between virtual and real spaces.

Luxshare Precision showcased its smart full-color AR glasses, which employ binocular different display full-color technology. Through Micro LED + SRG etching technology, it achieves a rich color display of 16.77 million colors. The high transmittance of 90% makes the field of vision clearer, while the peak brightness of 6000 nits ensures an excellent visual experience under any lighting conditions.

Luxshare Precision also showcased its PVG single-green AR glasses, jointly developed with Southeast University and Nanjing Parallel Vision Technology Co., Ltd. Designed for outdoor scenarios, these glasses feature a 400% improvement in light efficiency, achieving a brightness level exceeding 2400 nits/lm; a 90% reduction in backlight leakage, keeping it below 3%; a 40% reduction in ambient light diffraction, keeping it below 0.5%; and a 60% reduction in energy consumption.

At the event, Luxshare Precision also showcased near-eye display technology solutions, including the Micro OLED MR Pancake module, a 0.15cc Micro LED light engine, and a 0.33cc FLCoS optical engine.

Hymostar showcased several laser products at the event, including an AI-powered portable laser engraving machine and the MOPA series high-single-pulse lasers. In the field of new displays, Hymostar currently possesses Micro LED mass transfer equipment, Mini/Micro LED laser welding equipment, and laminated film laser cutting equipment, meeting the needs of various new display applications.

Yibei Technology

Yibei Technology showcased three core products: a Micro LED wafer-level mass production inspection (PL) system, a Micro LED wafer and panel high-throughput AOI system, and a compound semiconductor substrate and epitaxial defect inspection system. These products feature ultra-high-speed non-destructive testing, sub-micron resolution, detection of minute defects in transparent samples, and excellent surface resolution. In recent years, Yibei Technology has achieved mass production deliveries of multiple Micro LED devices.

Tianren Micro- Nano, a company specializing in micro-nano fabrication equipment and solutions, showcased its one-stop AR diffraction waveguide solution, including the GL400 SR-V fully automated stepper nanoimprint lithography production line, the GL310 Cluster Gen2 310mm square substrate fully automated nanoimprint lithography production line, and the GL300 Cluster 200/300mm fully automated nanoimprint lithography production line.

It is understood that Tianren Micro-Nano's nanoimprint lithography production line integrates the complete process from nanoimprint wafer processing to nanoimprint lithography, and is suitable for large-scale mass production in application fields such as DOE, AR/VR diffraction waveguides (including oblique tooth gratings), line grating polarization, super lenses, biochips, LEDs, and microlens arrays.

At the event, Tenren Micro-Nano also showcased its SiC and TiO2 nanoimprinting and etching solutions; panel-level nanoimprinting equipment for AR-HUD, naked-eye 3D, e-ink screens, and other new display application solutions.

Kangtai

KTD showcased a full range of production equipment for precision assembly and bonding of monochrome and full-color optomechanical engines, active alignment (AA), and optomechanical and optical performance testing, as well as binocular image merging (AA), and AR semi-finished and finished product testing equipment. Among them, the KXR-AA003 active alignment (AA) equipment utilizes a high-resolution human eye camera, paired with a high-precision automatic six-axis displacement platform, and works with KTD's self-developed AA kit to achieve high-precision self-alignment of three-color light panels, pixel-level light merging, and automatic dispensing and curing processes, suitable for Micro LED full-color optomechanical engines. All models come standard with a fully automated material loading and unloading design to meet the needs of mass production.

The KXR-TY001 XR precision bonding equipment adopts a fully automatic hopper loading and unloading design, paired with a high-precision automatic six-axis displacement platform and KTD's self-developed alignment software system to achieve high-precision automated alignment and assembly of prisms and brackets, automatic dispensing, and curing processes. HGLaser

In the field of precision micro-nano laser manufacturing solutions, laser equipment company HGLaser showcased its waveguide cutting application, demonstrating edge chipping of less than 20μm through laser cutting of waveguide sheets. Furthermore, HGLaser also demonstrated application cases of micro-nano laser technology in products such as automotive HUD curved glass, IC substrates, PCBs, and packaged chips.

Gern Semiconductor

Gern Semiconductor focuses on the development and industrialization of core technologies for third-generation semiconductor chips, with an emphasis on gallium nitride lasers and high-end light-emitting devices. It possesses a full range of engineering and technical capabilities and mass production capabilities covering gallium nitride laser structure design, epitaxial growth, chip manufacturing, packaging and testing.

Gern Semiconductor's laser products cover green, blue, and violet light bands, and are used in laser projection, industrial processing, special lighting, measurement and indication, medical and other fields.

At the event, Gern Semiconductor showcased a variety of products, including blue and violet laser diodes, green 360-degree modules, and blue and green laser epitaxial wafers.

Yueneng Optoelectronics

At this exhibition, Yueng Optoelectronics showcased its core products, including ultra-large size LBO crystals, RTP crystals, and CLBO crystal materials.

Among them, the ultra-large size LBO crystal, as a key product of Yueng Optoelectronics, has unique optical characteristics such as ultra-wide light transmission range, high damage threshold and high efficiency conversion capability. These characteristics enable LBO crystal to play an important role in high power frequency doubling, third harmonics and sum frequency, difference frequency and other fields, and play a key role in scientific research, military, medical and industrial applications.

Changguang Huaxin focuses on the semiconductor laser industry and is one of the few companies in the world that researches and mass-produces high-power semiconductor laser chips. Richtek Semiconductor showcased its SiMiP chip, a silicon-based GaN single-chip integrated full-color Micro LED chip that eliminates the need for mass transfer, achieving RGB three-color integration and featuring high reliability, high consistency, high energy efficiency, and low power consumption. Additionally, Richtek also demonstrated its UV LED solutions covering multiple application scenarios.
