Samsung Display signed a memorandum of understanding with Dolby Laboratories on the 16th (Korean time) to jointly promote Dolby Vision HDR video technology and automotive OLED screens optimized for this technology, strengthening OLED's leading position in the automotive display market.
Samsung Display states that its automotive OLED displays boast industry-leading contrast ratios and color gamut coverage; while Dolby Vision technology delivers vibrant, vivid colors and richer details, presenting exquisite and captivating picture quality. The synergy of these two technologies is expected to elevate in-car entertainment to a new level.

The memorandum of understanding signed between Samsung Display and Dolby Laboratories also means that automotive OEMs using Samsung OLED screens can significantly shorten the evaluation cycle for their products to obtain Dolby Vision certification.
Andreas Ehret, Senior Director of Automotive Business at Dolby Laboratories, said, "Cars are now more than just a means of transportation; they have become places where passengers can enjoy a variety of entertainment. We are very excited about the combination of Samsung Display's industry-leading OLED technology and Dolby Vision's lifelike visuals, which will bring an immersive in-car entertainment experience to more customers."
Samsung Display also plans to collaborate with Dolby Laboratories at CES 2025 to create a next-generation automotive OLED experience exhibition space. (IT Home)
