On November 14th, TCL CSOT's Global Display Ecosystem Conference (DTC2025) was held in Suzhou. At the conference, TCL CSOT released several new technologies and products, including a 0.28-inch monolithic full-color silicon-based Micro LED display product with the world's highest resolution.

The device is 0.28 inches in size and uses a silicon substrate and a single full-color Micro LED pixel structure. It has a resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 10262 PPI, resulting in a delicate picture with significantly reduced pixel graininess.

This product features an ultra-small size, providing a "retina-level" visual experience for near-eye display devices such as AR glasses and ultra-thin VR; the single-chip full-color Micro LED design makes the image more balanced in terms of brightness, color and stability; the silicon-based self-emissive structure brings high brightness, high contrast and wide color gamut characteristics, reducing graininess and improving detail.

Based on its comprehensive characteristics in miniaturization, high resolution and low power consumption, this product is positioned as one of the technologies for next-generation lightweight, high-performance near-eye display devices, and is also regarded as a technological advancement of silicon-based Micro LED in the direction of miniaturization and high density.

It's worth mentioning that TCL CSOT also showcased related technologies earlier this year. For example, at SID2025 in May, TCL CSOT demonstrated a 0.05-inch silicon-based Micro LED display.

This display uses a silicon-based driving backplane, with a resolution of 256×86, a pixel density of 5080 PPI, and a pixel pitch of approximately 5 micrometers. Its peak brightness exceeds 4 million nits, and the power consumption of the entire screen is controlled within 10 milliwatts. It is suitable for wearable and near-eye display devices, and can also be used in scenarios such as micro-projection, smartwatches, medical endoscopes, and automotive transparent displays.

In addition to product launches, TCL CSOT is also promoting industry chain cooperation.

On September 23rd of this year, TCL CSOT announced a deepening of its long-term strategic cooperation with AR technology supplier Vuzix. The two companies will focus on the integration of Micro LED microdisplays and optical waveguide technologies, aiming to jointly create optical display solutions for the global market.

According to the cooperation announcement, the core of the collaboration is a modular solution integrating TCL CSOT's Micro LED microdisplay and Vuzix's waveguide technology. This solution will be available to global smart glasses OEMs and consumer electronics brands, aiming to lower the development threshold for AR glasses and accelerate product transformation by leveraging its "easy integration and rapid mass production" characteristics.

Vuzix stated that the integration of Micro LED and waveguide optics is one of the core driving forces for the development of next-generation smart glasses. The two companies have already achieved phased results in their technological collaboration. At the 2025 China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE), Vuzix and TCL CSOT jointly showcased a prototype integrating a single green Micro LED display engine with a high-transparency, rainbow-free waveguide. It was revealed that the two companies are currently working on the integration technology of full-color Micro LED and waveguide optics, and a related solution is expected to be released in early 2026.
