According to reports, the new product will be equipped with a self-developed head-mounted display chip, enabling real-time processing of high-definition, high-frame-rate video with low latency and high precision, with a system latency of approximately 12 milliseconds. It is understood that PICO's self-developed chip project was initiated in June 2022, with wafer fabrication completed in 2024, and is currently in mass production, with all indicators meeting design requirements. Furthermore, the new PICO product will utilize a custom Micro OLED screen with a PPI of nearly 4000, almost nine times that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max; the average PPD reaches 40, with the central area exceeding 45, more than double that of the Pico3.
It's also worth noting that PICO has been continuously optimizing its ecosystem recently. In April of this year, it fully opened its platform to individual developers, simplifying the listing process and providing comprehensive support. In March, the PICO4 Ultra MR all-in-one device also received a 5.13.0.U system update, adding features such as spatial video recording and 2D photo-to-spatial photo conversion, enhancing the image capture and interactive experience.
