A powerful alliance! Foxconn announces a partnership with Porotech to enter the AR glasses market! This deepens their collaboration following their work on MicroLED technology! Together, they will drive the global development of AR and microdisplay technologies!

Foxconn Technology Group announced that it will join hands with Porotech to enter the AR glasses market. Leveraging Porotech's leading gallium nitride (GaN) technology and combining it with Foxconn's MicroLED wafer manufacturing process, Foxconn will provide a one-stop vertically integrated service from packaging to optical modules to meet the production needs of microdisplay chips and AR glasses. This will provide high-performance, high-brightness, miniaturized, and lightweight AR display solutions, and jointly promote the development of global AR and microdisplay technologies!

According to the cooperation agreement, Foxconn will accelerate its strategic layout in AR and MicroLED, and plans to build a MicroLED wafer fabrication line in Taichung, which is expected to start mass production in the fourth quarter of 2025 to meet the relevant needs of mainstream customers around the world.

Foxconn is optimistic about the future AR market, and the opening of the new plant is expected to make Taiwan a major hub for AR glasses and MicroLED technology, further enhancing Foxconn's advantages in related industries.
