The primary goal of this new award is to support the development of South Korea's OLED, Micro LED, AR, and VR display industries. The award supports small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, universities, and research institutions. The government announced 40 R&D projects receiving awards, covering OLED technology, AR/VR technology, Micro LED displays, and Lightfield OLED displays; these projects have development timelines ranging from 1 to 4 years.
It is worth noting that the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Promotion (KIAT) and the Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) recently planned to invest 18 billion won (approximately 90.54 million yuan) to promote the research and development of 17 inorganic light-emitting display technologies and ecosystem construction projects. These projects mainly involve the research and development of Micro LED technology and AR micro-display application technology. (Compiled)
