Osram, a global leader in smart sensor and transmitter technologies, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, alleging that Nature Fresh Farms USA Inc. infringed on Osram's legitimate rights in proprietary LED technology by using certain gardening LED lighting devices, including the Agrolux Wega Plus.

This case involves seven U.S. patents held by ams Osram, covering its groundbreaking ultra-red (660nm) LED architecture technology. This technology is a core component of high-performance lighting solutions for controlled-environment agriculture.

This case involves not only intellectual property protection, but also the defense of trust, confidence, technological achievements, and a level playing field. Aldo Kamper, CEO of ams Osram, emphasized, "We create quantifiable value advantages for our customers through significant investment. Maintaining technological innovation is not only a corporate choice, but also a strategic priority for development."

Through this legal action, Osram aims to comprehensively protect its intellectual property system. Its ultra-red light technology, developed through in-depth research, demonstrates superior photonic efficiency and precise spectral control in plant growth applications. Currently, the company is evaluating further legal measures to safeguard market order and ensure that global stakeholders continue to enjoy the technological value.

Kamper added, “This lawsuit transcends the scope of an individual company. We are essentially protecting the rights of all participants in the innovation ecosystem, including our customers and partners, and all stakeholders who value a level playing field. To this end, we will continue to strengthen our market monitoring mechanisms and take necessary legal action as appropriate to safeguard our legitimate rights.”
