Samsung Display today announced the launch of a new foldable screen panel brand, “MONT FLEX,” which focuses on more distinctive and differentiated products, leveraging Samsung’s strengths in the foldable display panel field.

According to Samsung Display, the brand name "MONT FLEX" originates from the French word "mont" (mountain), symbolizing "the pinnacle of innovation in foldable display panels" and reflecting Samsung's vision for future technology. Each letter in the brand name represents the following elements:
M (Mechanical durability): Mechanical durability
O (Opto-mechanically flat): A smooth surface that combines visual and mechanical properties (no creases).
N (Narrow bezels): Narrow bezels
T (Thin and lightweight design): Thin and light design
Jae-Nam Yun, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Mobile Display Panels at Samsung Display, said, “Since we began mass production of OLED panels for foldable phones in 2019, the company has been driving technological innovation. Samsung Display is the first manufacturer in the industry to apply UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) and LEAD (Optical Coffered Frame) technologies to foldable phones. Following the launch of the ‘impact-resistant’ panel that has passed 500,000 folding tests, the company will continue to push the boundaries of technology to bring more refined foldable display panels that exceed market expectations.”
Meanwhile, Samsung Display announced that it will officially launch its "MONT FLEX" brand at K-Display 2025 in Korea from August 7th to 9th, where it will also showcase its products. (Source: IT Home)
