In fact, HTC VIVE had already hinted at its plans on social media last month. It announced a launch event themed "What's Next" at Taipei 101, and explicitly stated its intention to unveil its first smart glasses product on August 14th. However, the official announcement was quite secretive, only revealing the brief and suspenseful theme "The Future Is Coming," remaining silent on other details of the event.
Looking back at HTC's development in the wearable device field, they had actually explored similar products before. In 2021, HTC launched the VIVE Flow VR glasses, which were similar in size. This product focused on connecting to a smartphone to create an immersive VR experience for users. Weighing only 189 grams, it was relatively lightweight and comfortable to wear, offering 3.2K resolution, a 100-degree field of view, and a 75Hz refresh rate, delivering relatively clear and smooth visuals.
