On September 2nd, according to South Korean media outlet The elec, South Korean equipment manufacturer Hanwha Semiconductor successfully won a bid for BOE's Micro LED project and will supply chip mounters to BOE's Huacan production base in Zhuhai. According to a Chinese bidding platform, the tender involved four chip mounters, and Hanwha Semiconductor was the sole bidder, officially winning the contract on September 1st.

South Korean media reported that Hanwha Semiconductor confirmed its participation in and successful bid for the project, but did not disclose the specific equipment model or its intended use. Industry insiders speculate that the delivered equipment may be the Decan F2 or XM5 series, both offering precision of 40µm and 22µm respectively, capable of meeting the ultra-precision mounting requirements of Micro LED chips smaller than 100µm. This equipment is expected to be used at BOE's HC SemiTek 6-inch wafer Micro LED production base in Zhuhai.

It is understood that the base is the world's first 6-inch Micro LED mass production line, mainly producing Micro LED wafers and pixel devices for applications such as AR/VR devices and wearable devices. Once fully operational, the annual production capacity is expected to reach 24,000 6-inch wafers and 45,000 KK Micro LED pixel devices.

The project went into production last November, and in March of this year, BOE Huacan Optoelectronics announced that its Micro LED mass production line had achieved product delivery.
