On October 17, Goertek issued an announcement regarding the termination of its planned acquisition of 100% equity in two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Luen Fung Commercial Holdings Limited: Mega Precision Technology Limited and Channel Well Industrial Limited.
In its announcement, Goertek explained that after actively advancing due diligence, auditing, and valuation work, and after multiple rounds of communication and negotiation with the counterparty, the two parties ultimately "failed to reach an agreement on key terms related to the transaction," and therefore decided to terminate the acquisition.
The acquisition was first disclosed on the evening of July 22, 2025. At that time, Goertek announced that it had reached a preliminary agreement with Hong Kong-based Luen Fung Commercial Group to acquire 100% equity of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Mia Precision Technology Co., Ltd. and Changhong Industrial Co., Ltd., for approximately HK$10.4 billion (approximately RMB 9.5 billion) using its own or self-raised funds.
Goertek stated at the time that the acquisition aimed to enhance the company's overall competitiveness in the field of precision structural components, deepen its vertical integration capabilities, and continuously strengthen its cooperative relationships with leading customers in the industry.
According to public information, Goertek's main businesses are precision components, smart acoustic devices, and smart hardware.
Its precision components include haptic devices (motors), wireless charging devices, antennas, VR/MR optical components and modules, which are used in terminals such as smartphones, tablets, wireless headphones, VR/AR/MR devices, and AI smart glasses.
