The 2025 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition has recently concluded. Looking back at this exhibition, lighting companies once again brought a wealth of new LED lighting products, exploring the development potential of LED lighting technology from multiple perspectives.
Based on the latest technologies and products showcased at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, and through in-depth discussions with companies on-site, six major development trends were observed in the LED lighting industry:
1. Simulating the solar spectrum, "Tianjing Lamp" becomes the focus of the exhibition. <br /> Full-spectrum lighting (tunable white LED) is a technology dedicated to simulating the spectral characteristics of sunlight. Its core lies in making the spectrum of light emitted by the lamp close to the solar spectrum, especially in the visible light part where the proportion of various wavelength components is similar to that of sunlight.
In the LED lighting field, the promotion of full-spectrum technology has been underway for some time, and 2025 may become a crucial year for the large-scale application of full-spectrum lighting technology. At this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, many manufacturers showcased full-spectrum products for indoor lighting applications, among which the Tianjing Lamp, which simulates the solar spectrum, became the focus of the exhibition.
It is understood that the Tianjing Lamp features an adjustable color temperature of tens of thousands of levels and a rich variety of colors, capable of not only meeting main functional lighting needs but also supporting ambient mood lighting. According to analysts, the Tianjing Lamp is currently emerging and growing rapidly in the Chinese market and is gradually expanding into the North American market.
At the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, Foshan Lighting showcased its Sky series products, including the Sky Glow Lamp and Sky Dome Lamp, which support color temperature adjustment from 2000K to 18000K; Shengpu Optoelectronics showcased a Sky Mirror Lamp model M350.

Outside the exhibition, several LED lighting companies also launched related products. For example, Opple Lighting launched the "Skylight Ceiling Light" series based on "SDL Smart Spectrum" technology, which has advantages such as full-spectrum eye protection, intelligent control, multi-scene adaptation, and ultra-wide color temperature adjustment of 1800K-12000K.

2. AI technology accelerates the development of smart lighting applications.
The rapid development of AI technology is empowering all industries, including the LED lighting field. With the support of AI technology, smart lighting is becoming even smarter.
This year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (Guangya Exhibition) revealed a significant number of cutting-edge AI-related applications in China's lighting industry. AI systems are creating highly personalized lighting experiences by integrating sensors, cameras, and smart devices. In optical applications, manufacturers are leveraging AI algorithms to achieve automatic light distribution and create various spectral application scenarios.
At the exhibition, Auman Technology showcased its AI+connected dynamic intelligent lighting scene solution, featuring intelligent lighting products equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 modules and Zigbee dual-mode protocols, and a sensor and AI algorithm intelligent control system to achieve dynamic dimming and color adjustment functions.
Among them, the ambient light smart ceiling light solution adopts a full-spectrum solution with an adjustable color temperature range between 1800K and 12000K, a color rendering index Ra of 98, and can use AI mixing algorithms to achieve multiple scene modes.

Jinluming's Zhimouji AI smart downlights and spotlights are designed for various scenarios, including apparel chains, fruit and vegetable supermarkets, tile and sanitary ware stores, offices and meeting rooms, art displays, restaurants, and car dealerships. These solutions integrate functions such as autonomous sensing, color matching, low-carbon energy saving, light environment creation, and big data analysis, and have added innovative features such as gesture recognition and gesture calling.

Sanxiong Aurora showcased its AI office lighting product system at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition. According to the introduction, this AI lighting system can automatically adjust brightness based on the number of people, optimize energy efficiency, and synchronize with the HVAC system, thereby creating a smarter, more environmentally friendly, and healthier workspace.

3. Backlighting and Top/Bottom Lighting Designs Gain Popularity, Creating a Multi-Dimensional Spatial Experience <br /> At this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, lighting product designs also saw new changes. With increasing market demand, many luminaires have incorporated backlighting and top/bottom light emission designs. It is understood that adding a backlight (7-10W) or top-emitting light to luminaires can increase spatial brightness, create ambiance, and enhance the sense of spatial depth.
Lighting fixtures with this design are mainly used in commercial and residential ceiling lights and linear lighting products. For example, Lidaxin exhibited the C5 series ceiling light for children's rooms, which has dual light sources to simulate natural light and protect eyesight, and features intelligent voice control technology to meet various needs.

4. Adjustable Product Parameters DIP Switch Function Penetrates Outdoor Lighting <br /> This adjustable parameter function was previously mainly used in indoor lighting products. However, at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, it was found that the adjustable parameter function is beginning to penetrate outdoor lighting products, including outdoor streetlights, floodlights, and spotlights.

Analysts say these products are targeted at engineering/contractors, distributors, and wholesalers. As a result, many manufacturers at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition launched three types of outdoor lighting products with adjustable parameters, including on-site adjustment of light distribution/beam angle, power/luminous flux, and color temperature (CCT) to meet the needs of these customers.
The adjustment of lighting parameters has been expanded from one type to three types, especially with the addition of adjustable light pattern parameters. For lighting manufacturers, this move can increase sales and reduce product inventory, while for users, on-site installation of outdoor lighting products has become simpler and more convenient.
At the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, the floodlights launched by Topview Technology and the streetlights launched by Stone Sky Technology both have at least two types of adjustable parameters.

5. The Elderly-Friendly Lighting Market Gains Corporate Attention <br /> This year, elderly-friendly lighting has become one of the key application scenarios that LED lighting companies are focusing on. As people age, their visual abilities gradually decline, their lenses yellow, reducing light transmittance, and the function of photoreceptor cells in the retina also deteriorates. Therefore, the lighting needs of the elderly not only require sufficient brightness but also need to consider their specific needs in different scenarios.
With the increasing aging of the global population, the age-friendly lighting market is showing significant growth potential. This market encompasses not only home lighting renovations but also the renovation and construction of public spaces such as nursing homes, hospitals, and communities. Therefore, the widespread adoption of age-friendly lighting will not only improve the quality of life for the elderly but also bring new development opportunities to the lighting industry.
Therefore, at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, companies such as Signify, Primacy, Foshan Lighting, and Nationstar Optoelectronics all showcased their elderly-friendly lighting product series.
Signify showcased its Anrui series of age-friendly lighting products, covering spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. The products feature customized light formulas, intelligent bed-leaving sensors, radar-assisted TOF sensing technology, fall detection, and voice control, meeting the needs of seniors.

It is understood that Foshan Lighting is actively developing age-friendly products, creating one-stop, all-scenario lighting solutions for elderly care through intelligent light environment design, while balancing functionality and economy, continuously providing new ideas for the practical application of light environments in healthy aging.

To address the characteristics of visual degeneration in the elderly, Guoxing Optoelectronics adopts a low blue light + high red light source design, and reduces short-wavelength blue light and enhances the red light band to delay the yellowing of the lens and improve the visual clarity of the elderly.

6. Energy conservation in lighting fixtures remains a crucial issue in the lighting industry . Under the dual-carbon development goals and the general trend of green development, energy conservation in lighting fixtures remains a critical issue in the lighting industry. While meeting basic light source needs, lighting needs to evolve rapidly towards greater intelligence, lower energy consumption, and recyclability. Therefore, at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, companies are taking multiple approaches to improve the energy-saving and environmentally friendly characteristics of their products.
Analysts observed that at this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, some exhibitors launched Class A energy efficiency products for lighting fixtures, and light source products are beginning to pursue the ERP Class A energy efficiency standard.
In terms of lighting energy applications, many exhibitors also brought energy storage street light products. These energy storage street lights can store electricity during off-peak hours and release it intelligently during peak and off-peak hours to achieve secondary energy savings. For example, Kingsun Optoelectronic launched its "Off-Peak Energy Storage Street Light" at the exhibition and developed the "Photovoltaic-Storage-Charging Integration 3.0 Version" to explore deep low-carbon development.
In terms of material selection for lighting fixtures, an increasing number of lighting companies are starting to use environmentally friendly materials, especially in response to the demands of the European market.
