News recently came from the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone that Wanda Optoelectronics Intelligent Manufacturing Base, an important supporting project of BOE's Qingdao base, has successfully passed the completion acceptance and will soon be fully put into operation, entering a new stage of development.

The Wanda Optoelectronics Intelligent Manufacturing Base project is located in the Qingdao New Display Industrial Park in the Wangtai area of Qingdao Development Zone. Invested and constructed by Fujian Wanda Group Co., Ltd., the total investment reaches 3 billion RMB. The project mainly aims to build an optoelectronic intelligent manufacturing base integrating backlight, SMT assembly, die-cutting, and stamping parts design, production, and R&D.
The first phase of this project planned 12 backlight and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production lines to provide strong support for BOE's IoT mobile display connectivity device project. Currently, the six completed SMT production lines have a daily capacity of approximately 15,000 pieces. Equipment for the second phase of the project has been installed and is undergoing trial operation.
According to public information, Fujian Wanda Group Co., Ltd. is a major supplier to large domestic and foreign panel and electronics companies such as BOE, TPV, Tianma, and ABB. In the field of optoelectronic manufacturing, it mainly produces various parts and components with optoelectronic technology as the core.
It is worth noting that the BOE IoT mobile display connection port device production base project is BOE's first major asset investment and high-end manufacturing display industry project in Qingdao, with a total investment of 8.17 billion yuan. The project mainly produces small and medium-sized LCD display modules, with a designed capacity of nearly 200 million units. The products are primarily used in smart terminals such as mobile phones, monitors, and AR/VR devices.
In addition, in May of this year, BOE's supporting display backplane project was also signed and settled in Qingdao. This project, invested by Yangsheng (Tianjin) Metal Products Co., Ltd., is a core supporting project for BOE's modules, with a planned total investment of 500 million RMB.
