On December 11, Xitai Technology announced that it had recently received support from a new type of policy-based financial instrument, with the funds to be used for the construction of a 12-inch OLEDoS production line in Nanchong, Sichuan. This production line is planned to adopt semiconductor manufacturing equipment and software systems, and integrate technologies such as AI quality inspection and digital twins for the production of micro-display devices.
This round of new policy-based financial instruments has a total national quota of 500 billion yuan, targeting strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, new displays, human-computer interaction, and key technology breakthroughs. OLEDoS is an important technological direction in new displays and is a key area supported by national policies.
Currently, the Nanchong 12-inch OLEDoS microdisplay industrial park has commenced construction in Jialing District, and construction is progressing smoothly. It is expected to be lit up by the end of 2026 and achieve mass production in the second quarter of 2027. After the project is put into operation, Xitai Technology will have two 12-inch OLEDoS production lines, which will enhance its large-scale production capacity and meet the global demand for near-eye display devices.

Founded in 2016 and registered in Wuhu, Anhui Province, Xitai Technology focuses on OLEDoS microdisplays, with product sizes ranging from 0.23 to 1.2 inches and resolutions from 640×400 to 1920×1080, and is applied in AR, VR, MR and other fields.
In March of this year, the company started construction on its second 12-inch OLEDoS production line in Nanchong. In November, Xitai Technology signed an agreement in Meishan Tianfu New Area for a global IC R&D center, display module capacity expansion, and terminal product OEM project. The second phase of the project is related to the progress of its second 12-inch OLEDoS production line.
From an industry development perspective, AR/VR/MR smart glasses products will drive the growth in demand for OLEDoS in the short to medium term, which has attracted more and more display manufacturers to accelerate their deployment of this technology.
Analysts point out that besides Japanese manufacturers like Sony and Chinese companies such as BOE, Visionox, and Xtech, more than ten Chinese manufacturers have begun building 12-inch OLEDoS mass production lines. This indicates increasingly fierce competition in the domestic market. (Compiled)
